Why do I need to cite my sources?

*Using other people's words, ideas, or creative work without giving them credit is a type of STEALING called plagiarism.  Consequences of plagiarism can range from failure on an assignment or for an entire course or even expulsion from school to lawsuits.

*Citing your sources gives your work credibility.  The information you share is more believable when we know where you got it and we know you didn't just "make it up."

When do I need to cite my sources?

*When you use someone else's opinion, ideas, exact words, research statistics, music, or images.

How do I cite my sources?

*All you have to do is state where you got the information.  For this assignment, use EasyBib to track your sources in MLA format.  Include as much information about your source as possible.
